Our client is seeking an experienced and dedicated Citrix Resource with expertise in Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD). The ideal candidate will be responsible for the design, deployment, maintenance, and optimization of their virtual application and desktop infrastructure, ensuring a seamless and high-performing user experience across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
Infrastructure Management: Perform general Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops (CVAD) administration, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
AVD Operations: Handle all aspects of Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) environments, including the creation, cloning, and configuration of host pools, application groups, and workspaces.
Deployment & Configuration: Deploy and manage virtual machines, images, and session hosts within both Citrix and AVD platforms.
Performance Optimization: Monitor and optimize the performance of virtual environments to ensure high availability and responsiveness.
Security & Compliance: Implement and manage security policies, patches, and updates across the virtual infrastructure.
Support & Troubleshooting: Act as a subject matter expert (SME) for escalated issues related to virtual desktops, applications, and user profiles.
Documentation: Create and maintain detailed documentation for all virtual desktop and application systems.
Required Qualifications
Proven experience as a Citrix Engineer or equivalent role managing large-scale Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops environments.
Demonstrable expertise in Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD), including deep knowledge of AVD components and deployment models.
Experience with image management, cloning technologies, and profile management solutions (e.G., FSLogix).
Strong understanding of networking concepts related to virtual desktop delivery (e.G., NetScaler/ADC, VPN).
Proficiency in scripting languages (e.G., PowerShell) for automation of routine tasks.
Preferred Qualifications
Relevant certifications (e.G., Citrix Certified Professional - Virtualization (CCP-V), Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate, or Azure Virtual Desktop Specialty).
Experience with cloud-based identity management (e.G., Azure AD, Hybrid AD).
Familiarity with monitoring tools for virtual environments.
Experience in capacity planning and optimization for virtual desktop infrastructure.
