Our client seeking a highly skilled Database Administrator for a long-term consulting engagement. This role is vital for maintaining, configuring, and optimizing the organization's critical database infrastructure both on-premises and in the Azure cloud.
Core Responsibilities
Infrastructure Management: Install, configure, and maintain Oracle Database and Microsoft SQL Server software in on-prem and Azure cloud-based High Availability environments.
Performance & Analysis: Carry out database performance tuning and monitoring to identify bottlenecks.
Security & Continuity: Implement backup and recovery strategies to meet service-level agreements (SLAs) and conduct security administration.
Operational Support: Resolve complex database technical issues, maintain schema objects, perform production migrations, and provide operational support.
Required Qualifications & Skills
Minimum of five (5) years of demonstrated experience as a DBA (or similar role) with recent experience in:
Cloud Platforms: MS Azure SQL, Azure SQL Managed Instance (MI), and Oracle Exadata database deployed in Azure.
Database Software: Oracle 19c and SQL Server 2019 or higher.
Specialized Tools: Oracle Exadata, Data Guard, RAC, RMAN (backup/restore), and Data Pump migration tools.
Advanced Concepts: PostgreSQL on Azure, Cloud SQL PaaS Services, and Oracle Advanced Security Transparent Data Encryption (TDE).
Additional Assets
Experience or certifications in:
Certifications: Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate, Azure Administrator Associate, or Oracle cloud certifications (e.G., OCP).
Systems: Oracle Autonomous Database, Commvault, and Dynatrace.
