This senior leadership role is responsible for the strategic direction, oversight, and modernization of the Global Tax Technology function within Capital Markets Technology. The Director ensures the technology strategy mitigates operational risk, delivers business value, and adheres to global regulations and internal standards.
Key Accountabilities
Technology Strategy: Develop and execute the long-term technology roadmap for tax systems, aligning with organizational digital transformation goals.
System Implementation: Oversee the deployment of tax engines, automation tools, and integration with financial and Books systems.
Compliance & Risk: Implement controls to ensure accurate tax data management and meet global regulatory requirements (e.G., FATCA, CRS, BEPS).
Innovation: Drive the adoption of automation, AI, and analytics for advanced tax forecasting and scenario modeling.
Leadership & Management: Build and lead a high-performance team (currently 5-7 staff), focusing on talent development, succession planning, and a customer-focused culture.
Required Skills and Experience
Experience: 10+ years in tax technology or related roles, with at least 5 years in leadership.
Track Record: Proven success in implementing tax technology solutions, preferably within major financial institutions.
Technical Knowledge: Strong command of global tax regulations and compliance frameworks.
Emerging Technology: Familiarity with data analytics, AI, and Robotic Process Automation (RPA).
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field;CPA or equivalent preferred.
