Job Description

Alquemy's Richmond client is seeking an Intermediate Facilities Technician to join their team!

This is a 12 month contract with the possibility of an extension or becoming permanent.

Responsibilities:
•Work in collaboration with the Facilities team to ensure office facility requirements, renovations, and activities are implemented safely and efficiently to support the overall operations of the business
•Assist with building renovation projects and escorting trades/contractors as required.
•Assist in oversight of all automated building systems such as heating, lighting, ventilation, security, etc.
•Assist in the coordination and implementation of:
o Setting up offices for new hires or moving staff to new rooms
o Working with project teams to support their facilities needs for current or future required space
o Organizing office space when moving departments: staff and materials
o Participate in the setting up of visitor events including small scale meetings in Boardroom to large scale meetings with 100+ visitors
o Participate in the setting up of internal events: small scale meetings of 10 to large scale meetings with 100+ people to support town halls, social events and other events as needed
•Able to coordinate, prioritize and schedule facility requests, including updating internal tracking spreadsheets, completing required work requested, and communicating / updating all involved parties
•Liaison with reception, security team and delivery staff
•Liaison with janitorial staff and cafeteria staff to address queries as needed
•Complete facilities related work raised by Occupational Health and Safety Committee on a timely basis
•Become an active member of the Emergency Response Team

Requirements:
•High school diploma and/or related training from a recognized post-secondary institution and/or facilities support experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
•Working knowledge of applicable trades is an asset
•Proficiency with software applications (Word, Excel, Scheduling tools)
•Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
•Customer-oriented team player
•Proactive with a “can do”and “will do”attitude capable of working under pressure
•Demonstrate solid time management and organization skills to meet deadlines
•Ability to work independently with limited supervision
•Physically able to lift 50lbs as needed

Nice to have:
•Previous exposure to Occupation Health and Safety concepts
•First Aid Certification is an asset though not required

Comments/Special Considerations:
Successful candidates must obtain and hold security clearance at the reliability status level, and pass security assessment for the Controlled Goods Program (CGP).
