Job Description


Responsibility/Tasks
  • Mechanical design of ground support equipment used to manufacture/assemble or deliver antennas, payloads, or space electronics.
  • Understand customer specifications and suggest new concepts.
  • Select/design components according to constraints.
  • Integrate concepts from electrical, manufacturing, alignment, thermal, and structural analysis into 3D models.
  • Develop detail and assembly drawings, parts lists, and user guides.
  • Monitor operations of component suppliers.
  • Support the use of designed and assembled equipment during integration and testing activities.

Minimum Qualifications Required
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, automated production engineering, or equivalent.
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in mechanical design.
  • Ability to work as part of a team.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Knowledge of MS Word, MS PowerPoint, MS Project, and MS Excel.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Bilingual (English/French).
  • Experience in mechanical design of tooling and jigs.
  • Knowledge of geometric tolerancing and drawing standards.
  • CAD design skills (NX, Creo, or Catia).
  • Knowledge of the space industry.
