The Project Solution Architect is responsible for leading the end-to-end solution architecture and design for projects. This role provides technical leadership, ensures the design meets all functional and non-functional requirements, and maintains strict alignment with Enterprise Architecture principles, technology standards, and governance processes.
Core Responsibilities
Architecture Leadership & Communication: Serve as the primary architectural authority for the project. Facilitate collaboration between business, technical, and vendor teams, and clearly communicate all architectural decisions and their rationale to stakeholders.
Solution Design & Documentation: Lead the development of the complete Solution Architecture, including System Overview, system-level architectures (Business, Information, Application, Integration, Technology, Security), and Technical (Non-Functional) Requirements Design. Produce and maintain key deliverables such as conceptual, logical, and physical diagrams and interface specifications.
Architecture Disciplines: Define and document the specific Information Architecture (data flows, storage), Application Architecture (components, interfaces), and Infrastructure Architecture (hardware, network, hosting).
Governance & Compliance: Facilitate and document all key architectural decisions, ensuring review and approval through the client's Architecture Review Board governance. Maintain alignment with enterprise architecture principles, technology standards, and regulatory requirements, including applicable security policies (e.G., CIP, Cyber, ISMS).
Technology & Integration: Evaluate, select, and oversee the integration of appropriate technologies and platforms, ensuring the resulting systems are interoperable, scalable, and maintainable.
Implementation Support: Provide architectural oversight throughout the solution Build and Transition phases, ensuring technical teams adhere to the design and supporting troubleshooting and risk mitigation.
Knowledge Transfer: Maintain comprehensive architectural documentation and facilitate knowledge transfer to internal teams for ongoing support and future enhancements.
Alignment with Enterprise Architecture
This role operates within the governance and oversight frameworks defined by the client’s Enterprise Architecture capability. The Architect will leverage established processes, templates, and standards provided by the Planning and Architecture (PandA) team to ensure all solution designs are strategically aligned and compliant.
