Satellite Flight Software Systems EngineerRole Overview The Satellite Flight Software Systems Engineer designs and validates critical embedded software for spacecraft control, navigation, and autonomous operations. You will define software architectures, ensure real-time performance, and lead testing in simulation, SIL, and HIL environments for communication and remote sensing missions. Key Responsibilities
Architecture & Design: Define software functions and features for avionics and payload interfaces in alignment with mission requirements.
Systems Engineering: Manage requirements flow-down, SOC, and verification matrices. Support Space and Ground segment ICDs.
V&V and Testing: Lead Verification and Validation (V&V) from SIL to HIL, including writing test plans, requirements, and managing anomaly reporting.
Mission Lifecycle Support: Support mission analysis, FDIR definitions, and participate in formal program reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR, TRR).
Integration: Oversee the Integration and Test (I&T) phase to ensure operational functionality in space environments.
Required Qualifications
Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with 7+ years of experience in LEO/MEO/GEO flight software.
Technical Standards: Deep knowledge of CCSDS, ECSS, and PUS services.
Hardware/Comms: Understanding of spacecraft avionics (AOCS) and protocols (1553, SpaceWire, RS422/485, CAN, Ethernet).
Software Tools: Experience with real-time cores, embedded Linux, and Matlab/Simulink.
Soft Skills: Strong leadership/coaching abilities and the capacity to solve complex problems with minimal supervision.
Communication: Fluent in English and comfortable in a French-speaking work environment.
Successful candidates must obtain and hold security clearance at the reliability status level, and pass security assessment for the Controlled Goods Program (CGP) and ITAR.
