Our Client is seeking a Satellite Systems Engineer
Description:
A Satellite Systems Engineer designs, tests, integrates, and operates satellite systems, covering subsystems like power, communications, and payloads. They translate mission requirements into technical specifications, perform system-level analyses, and manage end-to-end development, ensuring performance in harsh space environments. They also support ground-based operations and troubleshoot anomalies.
Role:
As part of the System Engineering Department, the Satellite System Engineer will lead, support, and coordinate the work needed for the definition of concepts, performance requirements, performance analysis and associated predictions, execution and tests in support of Satellite products.
Tasks:
The Satellite Systems engineer will perform or participate in the following tasks and activities, depending on the background and experience of the candidate.
•Develop and maintain the System requirements from the Space & ground segments compatibility from mission level down to the subsystem levels.
•Perform Trade-off studies based on requirements and implementation solutions
•Develop and maintain performance budgets and ensure compliance to requirements
•Define EMC/EMI electrical requirements and associated analysis
•Review Satellite Operation Manuals and associated trainings.
•Support Verification & Validation of activities of the overall End to End mission.
•Lead or support MBSE modeling.
•Lead or support to all program reviews including EQSR, SRR, PDR, CDR, TRR, PSR, OGAR...
•Support Satellite End to End testing and data reviews/analysis.
•Support launch and In-Orbit Test (EOR/IOT).
Required Qualifications:
•Bachelor’s degree in engineering in a relevant field with 7+ years of relevant experience
•Previous design and test experience with LEO/MEO satellites and ground segment sub-systems is an asset
•Understanding of the space environment, orbit dynamics, knowledge of STK, Orekit
•Strong understanding of aerospace systems and engineering fundamentals
•Demonstrated capability to understand complex systems and resolve problems.
•Demonstrated capability to efficiently work with little to no supervision
•Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communications skills in English and French working environment
•Experience leading and coaching a technical team
Successful candidates must obtain and hold security clearance at the reliability status level, and pass security assessment for the Controlled Goods Program (CGP) and ITAR.
