Satellite Systems Platform Engineer (Avionic & Bus) Join our clients Montreal-based team as a Satellite Systems Platform Engineer. We are a global leader in communications and radar satellites, seeking passionate experts to help design and test the next generation of space infrastructure. The Role You will provide RF and electrical system design, performance analysis, and testing for SAR or Telecommunication satellites. Your focus will include Telemetry, Command and Ranging (TCR), Bus Power, Thermal, and Attitude Control Systems. Key Responsibilities
Subsystem Expertise: Support TCR, C&DH, Thermal Control (TCS), ADCS, Propulsion, and Power subsystems.
Design & Analysis: Lead payload/platform design activities and perform system worst-case analyses for major program reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR).
Documentation: Write system requirements, verification matrices, equipment specifications, and test requirements.
AIT Support: Oversee Satellite/Platform Assembly, Integration, and Test (AIT), including EGSE, data analysis, and In-Orbit Testing (IOT).
Subcontractor Management: Monitor partner suppliers and technical subcontractors, including potential travel to international partner facilities.
Required Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Aerospace Engineering.
Experience: 5+ years of relevant experience, including design and AIT for GEO and LEO satellite systems.
Technical Skills: Strong understanding of space environments, orbital mechanics, and RF system testing.
Leadership: Proven ability to lead technical teams and work independently with high attention to detail.
Communication: Excellent written and verbal skills in both French and English (for international client interaction).
Operational Support: Ability to support spacecraft operations teams during critical mission phases.
Successful candidates must obtain and hold security clearance at the reliability status level, and pass security assessment for the Controlled Goods Program (CGP).
