We are seeking a versatile and highly analytical Senior Business Analyst to join our Montreal Client .
In this dynamic role, you will act as the vital bridge between business stakeholders and technical delivery teams, translating complex business needs into crisp, actionable technical specifications.
The ideal candidate is framework-agnostic, comfortable navigating everything from modern Agile sprints to structured Waterfall environments. You are not just a documenter—you are a problem solver who actively uncovers system dependencies, models future-state processes, and partners with Product Owners to drive successful system delivery from conception through post-implementation.
Key Responsibilities
Requirement Lifecycle Management: Partner closely with Product Owners and cross-functional teams to elicit, analyze, and document comprehensive business requirements. Convert these into traceable user stories, story maps, functional specifications, and use cases.
Process & Data Mapping: Model current- and target-state business processes to illustrate system impacts. Conduct deep-dive system and data mapping, actively identifying solution interdependencies across architects, subject matter experts (SMEs), and downstream teams.
Cross-Functional Liaison: Translate business needs into technical specifications that empower development and QA teams to deliver exact business functions. Participate actively in technical design reviews and architectural walk-throughs.
Product & Compliance Documentation: Create and maintain a robust documentation library covering all aspects of the product, including system functionality, operational runbooks, compliance requirements, and product launch processes.
Testing & Implementation Support: Support QA activities through test plan/case consultation, lead defect triage with application teams, and provide hands-on support during system go-live, including user training and post-implementation stabilization.
Adaptive Delivery: Seamlessly operate across various delivery methodologies, including Agile, Hybrid, and Waterfall frameworks. Stay ahead of the curve on industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory shifts.
Core Skills & Experience Required
Business Analysis Excellence
Process Modeling: Proven ability to design and map complex current and target-state processes, controls, and data reporting flows (ideally including impact assessments supporting trading or risk monitoring environments).
Requirement Integrity: Skilled in writing clear, precise, and traceable business requirements, maintaining their integrity throughout the software development lifecycle (SDLC).
E2E Delivery Support: Solid experience defining user acceptance test (UAT) cases, managing defect resolution, and facilitating smooth operational handovers to business users.
Scope Management: Demonstrated ability to scope business analysis activities, estimate timelines, and proactively manage your own planning and deliverables.
Analytical & Problem Solving
Root-Cause Analysis: Strong analytical mindset with a passion for performing deep dives into complex, multi-layered system and business issues.
