Our client is seeking a meticulous and deeply knowledgeable Senior Business Analyst specializing in Securities Finance and Repo Operations.
This is not a generic BA role;we are looking for an analytical "detective"—someone who thrives on operational rules, loves digging into complex architectures, and brings an uncompromising level of rigor and attention to detail to their work methodology.
In this role, you will bridge the gap between business strategy, external vendors, and technical engineering teams. You will optimize trade lifecycles, untangle complex data lineages, and ensure our systems remain robust, compliant, and highly efficient.
Expertise Required
Securities Finance Mastery: Deep, practical experience in Securities Borrowing and Lending (SBL) activities and/or Repo Operations. You must possess a comprehensive understanding of the associated trade lifecycle, clearing, settlement, operational friction points, and industry regulations.
Platform Knowledge (Strong Asset): Direct experience with specialized securities finance platforms—specifically Global One (G1) or SFTC—is highly desirable.
Data-Centric Mindset: Highly data-oriented with the technical ability to perform thorough data lineage analysis, map complex data elements across upstream/downstream systems, and validate data outputs with absolute accuracy.
Vendor Engagement: Proven track record of managing technical relationships with external vendors, including leading or actively participating in Proofs of Concept (PoCs) and software evaluations.
Requirement Architecture: Partner with Product Owners, Architects, and cross-functional teams to capture, challenge, and document complex business requirements using standard enterprise templates.
Process & System Mapping: Conduct detailed business process analysis to develop future-state process models, granular data mapping, and comprehensive process flow diagrams.
Agile & Traditional Delivery: Translate complex requirements into detailed user stories, story mapping, and explicit acceptance criteria for Agile delivery, while remaining nimble enough to support Hybrid or Waterfall frameworks when required.
Technical Liaison & Integration
Dependency Identification: Collaborate with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and dependent engineering teams to identify critical solution interdependencies and mitigate integration risks.
Technical Translation: Act as a bilingual liaison between business operations and technical developers, turning nuanced financial workflows into razor-sharp technical specifications.
Artifact Ownership: Create and maintain flawless documentation covering all product dimensions, including trading desk operations, regulatory compliance, product launch procedures, and underlying system functionality.
Testing, Implementation & Governance
Quality Assurance Partnership: Support QA and business testing teams by advising on test plans/UAT cases, and aggressively managing defect triage with the appropriate application teams.
Go-Live & Transition Support: Provide hands-on guidance during system implementation, including operational runbook creation, user training, and post-implementation hypercare.
Industry Vigilance: Stay continuously up to date on evolving capital markets industry trends, clearing house regulations, and emerging financial technologies.
Requirements
Education: University degree or college diploma in Finance, Computer Science, Economics, or a related quantitative discipline.
Experience: 7+ years of Business Analysis experience within Capital Markets or Wealth Management, with a dedicated focus on Securities Finance or Fixed Income.
Soft Skills: A natural problem-solver who values rigor over speed, possesses exceptional active listening skills, and is comfortable taking on versatile tasks that stretch beyond traditional BA boundaries to ensure project delivery.
