Our client is seeking an experienced IT Solution Architect to design and deliver secure, scalable, and compliant technology solutions for global cannabis operations. This critical role ensures architectural integrity and alignment with corporate strategy across all enterprise systems (production, supply chain, commercial, corporate). The Solution Architect partners with Enterprise Architecture, Infrastructure, Security, Applications, and Business teams to translate complex requirements into end-to-end solution designs and provides architectural oversight across the full solution lifecycle. Key Responsibilities
Architecture & Strategy: Develop and evolve the technology roadmap, design solutions aligned with Enterprise Architecture principles, and document architectural artifacts (designs, diagrams, ADRs).
Integration & Systems Design: Architect integrations (APIs, messaging, microservices), design resilient multi-cloud/hybrid architectures (Azure/AWS), and oversee data flows.
Delivery Oversight & Governance: Provide architectural guidance during project execution, identify and escalate risks/trade-offs, and act as a liaison between business and technical teams.
Security & Compliance: Embed secure-by-design and Zero-Trust principles, and support compliance for SOX, GDPR, PCI-DSS, NIST, GMP, and other regulatory frameworks.
Required Knowledge, Skills & Expertise
Enterprise & Cloud Architecture: Strong command of frameworks (e.G., TOGAF) and deep expertise in Microsoft Azure and AWS cloud environments (multi-cloud/hybrid). Strong understanding of RTO/RPO, high availability, and non-functional requirements.
Applications & Integration: Experience designing enterprise integrations (APIs, RESTful, MuleSoft), microservices, and CI/CD practices. Hands-on exposure to Dynamics 365, Power Platform, and extensive experience with ERP/supply chain systems.
Governance & Risk: Strong understanding of major regulatory requirements (SOX, GDPR, NIST, etc.) and experience operating within regulated environments (cannabis industry experience is an asset).
Leadership & Communication: Ability to influence without authority, translate ambiguous challenges into technical specs, and strong stakeholder management/executive communication skills.
Qualifications
7–10+ years of experience in enterprise or solution architecture roles.
Post-secondary education in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
Proven experience with: Microsoft Azure, AWS, Dynamics 365, Power Platform, and MuleSoft.
Certifications considered an asset: TOGAF, Azure Solutions Architect, AWS Certified Architect, COBIT, ITIL.
