Key Responsibilities:
Act as the primary technical subject matter expert between Enforcement and Information Services.
Lead the development and continuous improvement of detection algorithms and data analytics tools.
Provide specialized guidance on trade data analysis and the proactive identification of market abuse.
Collaborate with Data Science and Market Abuse teams to align investigative tools with regulatory priorities.
Offer expert testimony in legal proceedings regarding analytics techniques, as required.
Maintain market intelligence on AI, data analytics trends, and capital market developments through international outreach.
What You Need to Succeed:
Education: Undergraduate degree in Financial Engineering, Information Management, Economics, Law, Accounting, or a related field.
Experience: 8–10 years in data analytics and investigations (or equivalent combination), with experience in a market abuse investigator or stocks/derivatives trading surveillance/compliance role.
Knowledge: In-depth understanding of capital market operations, trading, and Canadian securities legislation, including insider trading and market manipulation.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in analyzing large datasets and creating frameworks to visualize complex patterns.
Soft Skills: Strong leadership, coaching, and relationship management skills.
