This role, part of the Data & Cloud Compute team, is responsible for configuring, securing, monitoring, and governing Microsoft Fabric at the tenant level to ensure reliable, compliant, and performant data operations. The administrator implements solutions in Azure, collaborating closely with developers, infrastructure, and data teams.
Key Accountabilities
Configuration & Capacity: Configure tenant-wide Fabric settings, OneLake policies, and manage/optimize capacity and resource allocations for Data Engineering, Real-Time Analytics, and Power BI workloads.
Security & Access Control: Implement access controls and role assignments using Microsoft Entra ID and Fabric workspace roles.
Governance & Compliance: Define and apply governance controls including data sensitivity labels, DLP rules, metadata scanning, and content certification.
Monitoring & Auditing: Monitor tenant usage, performance, and system health;audit activity logs for security, compliance, and incident response.
Integration & Coordination: Manage integrations with external data sources and cloud services (including Azure DevOps). Coordinate with platform teams (Cloud, Security, Data Engineering) on workspace onboarding and lifecycle policies.
Documentation & Training: Maintain documentation, runbooks, and operational playbooks. Drive adoption, change management, and training for self-service users. Provide guidance on DevOps principles.
Required Education & Experience
Education: Degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field, or a Diploma in IT Administration with equivalent work experience.
Experience: 3–5 years industry experience and 5–8 years IT experience (M365 experience is an asset). Utilities market/industry background is preferred.
